Chapter 15: The Expensive Demonstrator
The captain, aware of Stefan’s identity, lightly coughed. “Perhaps we should choose someone else?”
Irene continued to look at Stefan, her gaze unwavering.
Really? You actually want Stefan to be your combat partner?
What if you hurt him?
The captain’s eyes widened.
Ignoring him, Irene walked over to Stefan.
It was only then that the captain realized Irene was actually taller than he was!
Stefan was about six foot three, and Irene was around five foot ten, with an excellent body proportion and smooth muscle lines, making her look both athletic and beautiful.
Standing together, the air around them seemed to thicken.
Stefan, in his ascetic, severe suit, looked unapproachable, while Irene, in her athletic outfit, appeared vibrant and sunny, forming a striking contrast that strangely made them look well–matched.
Irene stopped at a socially acceptable distance under Stefan’s gaze.
Her beautiful face tilted up slightly. Although she wore no makeup, her skin. was flawless and smooth, like milk, and her lips were rosy, like cherries soaked
in syrup.
“Hello, may I ask if you are related to Mr. Palmer?”
Actually, they were friends.
The captain silently answered in his mind.
Unexpectedly, Stefan chuckled and answered, “Sort of.”
Irene didn’t probe further. She said, “That’s perfect. You can learn a few moves. too. It might come in handy in special situations.”
The captain was speechless.
Stefan’s family learning here? Really? If he wanted to learn, a queue of
decorated retired soldiers and special forces members would line up to teach him! Plus, a billionaire like him would never need to fight himself!
The captain’s thoughts were numerous, but Stefan’s single “Okay” extinguished them all.
What?
Okay?
Hearing this, even the FBI turned to look, astonished,
Front their observations, Stefan had severe cleanliness issues. Even with his
own belongings, he would use alcohol wipes to clean them first.
Everyone present sensed something unusual.
They exchanged glances filled with ambiguity.
It seems spring has arrived, bringing a beautiful romance.
As everyone exchanged knowing looks, Stefan’s expression remained unchanged. He smiled slightly, asking, “How should I cooperate?”
Irene smiled back, “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you.”
Stefan’s breath hitched for a moment.
When Irene spoke, she tilted her head up, and Stefan leaned down to hear her, closing the distance to the point they could almost hear each other’s breathing.
Stefan chuckled softly.
This was the first time anyone had ever told him they wouldn’t hurt him.
The feeling was novel.
Stefan’s unique scent enveloped Irene..
She found that scent reminiscent of the deep, damp forest aroma from her missions in Southeast Asia, blending into her breath.
Irene glanced at Stefan’s well–crafted suit. “Could you please take off your jacket? Demonstrating in a suit might damage it.”
Stefan silently laughed, unbuttoning his jacket as Irene requested.
When Stefan finished unbuttoning, his blue eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.
Feeling a sudden coolness, a breeze brushing his ears, Stefan hadn’t yet reacted when Irene had already helped him remove his jacket.
You were too slow. Let me help.”
Irene smiled sweetly and innocently.
But it didn’t hide the fact that she had eagerly stripped Stefan of his jacket with a swift motion.
Those familiar with Stefan, including the captain and FBI, felt a sudden sense of dread.
Stefan’s expression remained inscrutable, neither pleased nor angry. After a brief pause, he began rolling up his shirt sleeves.
Is he planning to retaliate against Miss Witness?
Walter, Stefan’s secretary, dared not continue his thoughts, mentally pleading: Boss, that’s your sister’s savior! Please, show mercy!
The agent tried to smooth things over. “We can’t wait for Miss Witness’s lesson! Let’s get started!”
Stefan said nothing, nodding slightly, signaling Irene to begin.
Irene asked curiously, “Did I do something strange just now?”
Stefan suddenly laughed, like an iceberg floating in the Arctic Ocean. “No, Miss Irene.”
Irene’s smile was clear. “I thought so! You’re quite considerate, handsome.”
Then she turned to the other officers.
*Is everyone here? Let’s begin!”
Irene suddenly raised her hand, touching Stefan’s nose.
Stefan was startled.
Irene’s touch was light. Stefan frowned slightly but endured it.
“First, I’ll teach you some effective counterattacks.”
“The first is a two–finger attack on the eyes. Typically, using the index and ring fingers to poke the opponent’s eyes causes pain, making criminala defensive. However, this is a misconception.”
Irene adjusted her hand position as she spoke.
“A more effective method is to pinch the thumb and Index finger together and jab at the criminal’s eyes, causing significant damage to one oye.”
“Of course, the more force used, the more effective it is.”
Irene demonstrated by placing her hand hear Stefan’s eyes, her voice cold and. devoid of any other intent.
Stefan’s eyelashes trembled, brushing against Irene’s rosy fingertips.
Like a butterfly’s wings.
Delicate, ticklish, barely there,
Stefan’s breath quickened slightly. He stared at the pale hand before him, lost. in thought.
Irene unhesitatingly withdrew her hand, taking Stefan’s hand instead.
“This technique is called wrist lock.”
“Using the thumb, push the opponent’s hand inward, towards the outer side of the forearm. Properly used, it can subdue a strong opponent.” Irene
demonstrated. “You can try this move on me.”
Stefan hesitated, fearing he might hurt Irene.
“Don’t worry, you can use force.”
Stefan complied, and Irene quickly countered, locking his wrist.
Stefan’s breath caught.
Irene held Stefan’s wrist, smiling. “During practice, be extra careful. Men have a lower tolerance for this area than women. Too much force can sprain your partner’s wrist.”
Irene continued explaining seriously, the officers listening intently, unaware that Stefan’s ears hidden under his hair were turning redder.
He was most aware of Irene’s skill and strength.
Because he could feel the controlled burst of power and speed during her demonstrations.
Her long hair cascaded like a waterfall, carrying a faint, fresh scent.
Even the FBI agents leaned in, listening attentively.
This knowledge wasn’t in textbooks. It required practical experience and seemed like ancient Eastern martial arts.
The agent couldn’t help but think, it would be great to have Irene as an adjunct officer at their station!
“Is it over?”
When Irene indicated the lesson was finished, someone sighed, feeling the joyful time passed too quickly.
Even Stefan felt a slight reluctance.
The cool, resilient body moved away, returning to social distance, making him involuntarily swallow.
