Chapter 19: Decker’s Scheme
Irene’s expression remained calm as she looked at Madame Kashi.
Madame Kashi seemed to lack energy, her eyes, which had weathered many storms over the years, were filled with sadness and a hint of reluctance.
Irene buried her head in the blanket on Madame Kashi’s lap.
Forget it.
As long as Madame Kashi had the determination, that was enough. As for the rest, Irene would give her enough time to adapt and to care less about that nauseating parental affection.
Irene helped Madame Kashi lie down, comforting her softly, “It’s okay. I’ll study
hard and ignore them.”
Madame Kashi nodded appreciatively, closing her eyes while holding Irene’s
hand.
Irene sat by the bed, watching Madame Kashi drift into sleep before she stood
- up.
She gently closed the door.
Emma stood not far from the door, looking worried.
“Grandma is asleep.”
Irene looked at the yard as a gust of wind blew through, making the leaves. rustle. Countless tiny leaves were blown off, swirling in the air with the wind.
In the silence, Irene coldly said, “Give me all the evidence you’ve collected
before.”
Emma seemed to receive a signal, clenching her fists in excitement.
Facing Emma’s sparkling eyes, Irene curved her lips into a cold smile.
“The Kashi family should go bankrupt. That woman has flaunted her power for
too long.”
Emma jumped up in excitement.

Fortunately, she was light, making no noise when she landed. Her pale brown eyes sparkled with joy.
Seeing her excitement, Irene smiled indulgently. “How’s your training with Black?”
Emma cheerfully replied, “The teacher said there’s nothing more to teach me; the rest I need to figure out on my own.”
Irene picked up a twig, flicking the vibrant green leaves.
“In two days, I want to know all illegal transactions of the Kashi family business and the dirty tricks Decker has used over the years.”
“If you can’t find it, ask Black to help. I want all the information in two days.”
Emma nodded vigorously.
Who would have thought that a girl who seemed only good at household chores at home was the hacker who challenged all the programmers of Q Country’s fourth–largest enterprise alone over ten years ago?
Moreover, she was a B–level hacker who had been learning and progressing under the world’s third–best hacker.
Back then, with just a phone and hotel Wi–Fi, Emma had hacked into the internal network of Q Country’s fourth–largest enterprise and leaked all their data online.
This caused the enterprise billions in losses.
When the police caught her, they had to release her after a short stint in juvenile detention due to her underage status.
After her release, Emma did not reform.
a grew
up in a very unhealthy family environment, with parents who were alcoholics and drug addicts. Emma had gone astray from a young age.
After getting out, she found a job as a maid.
Coincidentally, Irene was living with Madame Kashi, and under Irene’s “gentle” guidance, Emma finally developed some normal moral values.
Over the years, with Irene’s guidance, Emma had improved significantly from
her previous impulsive ways of dealing with those she disliked. Now, she
appeared as a fragile, beautiful girl.
But her nature hadn’t changed.
Those she targeted wouldn’t escape unscathed.
Irene sat in the small courtyard, taking out her favorite water bottle from her backpack. She sipped through the straw, gazing at the moon and lost in thought.
Meanwhile, at Decker’s home.
Already elderly and having been through a shock today, Decker lay in bed. wheezing.
His trachea made a loud, unsettling noise, sounding both strange and disgusting.
In Decker’s living room, many of his students and colleagues gathered, along with members of the Kashi family.
Despite today’s events spreading, many still came out of caution to visit Decker.
Looking at the lively scene, Decker understood well that it was all an illusion, ready to shatter like a mirage at any moment.
If these people knew he might be dismissed soon, not one would visit him.
When Joanna appeared, Decker’s housekeeper immediately greeted her, leading her through the crowd and up the stairs under everyone’s watchful eyes, personally opening Decker’s bedroom door.
Joanna, along with Kashi and Helen, felt very pleased.
The envious and jealous looks downstairs made Helen extremely satisfied. She held her head high, feeling she had never been the center of attention like this before.
Seeing Decker’s pale, listless face in bed, Joanna’s eyes reddened as if seeing. her real grandfather.
“Mr. Decker, what’s wrong? What happened!”
poor
“Isn’t it that relative of yours!” Decker, with an ice pack on his forehead,
spoke irritably, seemingly ready to curse but stopping short, forcing himself to soften his tone.
“She even deceived the police!”
Decker looked very distressed. Just thinking of Irene made him shiver with
anger.
“Her?” Joanna was extremely shocked.
Helen, seeing Decker’s condition, walked over to help him sit up more comfortably, patting his back, saying, “It’s disgusting! Can’t she find an honest job instead of deceiving people?”
What’s going on! Wasn’t her poor country bumpkin parents looking for her?
Sure enough, still the same disgusting look!
Promised well but acted differently! Isn’t she just sticking with the Kashi family to get more money from us!
“Mr. Decker, don’t worry, I’ll definitely scold her so that she won’t appear in front of you again!”
Helen patted her chest in assurance, not noticing Decker’s lecherous gaze lingering on her, his expression particularly sleazy.
Decker coughed lightly, hiding his lapse by pretending to be magnanimous; saying, “It’s nothing. I’m not petty enough to argue with a little girl. But you didn’t tell me this poor girl knew how to deduce?”
“And attended the joint training camp?”
“That’s impossible!” Helen laughed, “She dropped out of high school herself, how could she! Besides, without our money, how could she attend training
abroad!”
Decker sighed deeply. “Looks like the proof she presented was fake too. That’s not good; character is most important. She fooled the FBI and the police with that proof today.”
Helen scoffed, “Exactly, she’s a habitual liar! She must have learned some trickery from that old woman when she was young. That old woman used to be a private detective!”
Decker’s eyes gleamed. “A private detective? Sounds impressive!”
“Haha, it’s all fake! In the end, didn’t she just return home broke to get married?” “Madame Kashi?” Decker’s expression shifted as if recalling something.
Forty years ago, when Decker was young, there indeed was a popular private detective woman who eventually married into the Kashi family..
Though the Kashi family wasn’t much, that woman wasn’t easy to deal with. Even if she was now old, with gray hair and a wrinkled face.
