Chapter 29: Goodbye Decker
**Four Days Later.”
**Mosinaghan mansion.**
For the first time in decades, a detective competition was being held again in City A, attracting many participants.
Irene didn’t ride her motorcycle this time. After receiving the invitation, she
took a cab.
Holding the invitation, it seemed a bit lighter than before?
It wasn’t just her imagination.
Irene squinted slightly, deep in thought.
The driver, a tall and thin white man, was surprised when he heard the address: “Mosinaghan mansion? A young lady like you, that’s impressive. Only rich people go there…”
As he spoke, he observed Irene’s attire and demeanor through the rearview mirror, muttering, “Doesn’t look like it, though.”
Irene was speechless: “No, I’m just going for a free meal.”
The driver smacked his lips enviously: “If only I could sneak in too.”
The residences of the wealthy indeed reflected their status.
The top–tier wealthy people lived in their own mansions on the outskirts of City A, complete with villas, clubs, facilities for shooting, horse riding, golf, and swimming pools. The mansions covered large areas, with entrances conveniently located near highways and surrounded by 5A–level scenic parks.
Due to the mystery surrounding the owner of the Mosinaghan mansion, it had never been open to the public.
Even for this detective competition, journalists were not allowed to bring cameras. Photos were only allowed in the competition venue.
Only those with invitations could enter the Mosinaghan mansion.
There were three main types of participants. The first type came from famous
private detective families, many of whom had turned to careers in law
type
enforcement due to changes in the law The secondarious backgrounds,
Consisted of those with high reputations and detective skills, coming from various backgrounds, including online fame and community reputation. The third type had neither a notable background nor fame and sat together in small groups, conversing quietly.
There were also some relatives of the participants, who were arranged in the front hall.
Helen naturally received an invitation with Decker. She wore the latest long dress, a pearl necklace around her neck, an–expensive and exquisite ladies‘ watch on her wrist, and black high–heeled shoes.
“It’s so beautiful! One might think it’s a palace from another country!”
Helen exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.
She held Decker’s arm, her smile radiant: “Joanna and I are here thanks to your kindness!”
Decker, also visiting for the first time, straightened his back, slowly scanning the surroundings: “Don’t mention it. We haven’t even gone inside yet. Don’t make a fuss later and embarrass the Kashi family.”
Kashi, walking beside them, glared at Helen: “You’re right!”
Kashi was deeply impressed.
Though the Kashi family was not the top in City A, they were still upper–middle- class. Their villa, though luxurious, seemed insignificant compared to this place, like a worm compared to a python.
The Mosinaghan mansion was luxurious but appeared fresh and tasteful, unlike his own home, filled with gold and silver and paintings, exuding a nouveau riche vibe.
For the first time, Kashi despised his late father’s taste.
He decided to renovate his home similarly when he returned.
Joanna, dressed beautifully, followed behind the three, her heart pounding..
Since starting at the Ardenst Art Store, she had been eager to meet the legendary man…
It’s already past nine. Why hasn’t it started yet?”
“Yeah, not a single Mosinaghan family member in sight.”
However, the comfortable air conditioning, unlimited drinks, fruits, and desserts made everyone only complain a little before resuming their
conversations
In the center of the Mosinaghan mansion stood a villa surrounded by trees,
very quiet
“It’s almost time
The Butler entered, speaking to Marta, who was sitting on the sofa.
Stefan glanced at his watch helplessly: ‘Aren’t you leaving yet?”
Marta had been stalling for a long time. She studied the patterns on her teacup, smiling without speaking.
“It’s not polite to keep the guests waiting.
“But brother, Sister Irene hasn’t arrived yet. I don’t know anyone else, and it’s no
fun.”
Stefan, dressed in a suit, looked even more handsome.
Hearing that they were waiting for Irene, Stefan’s eyes darkened slightly, and he said casually: “Then let’s wait a bit longer.”
Outside the mansion’s club, a parking lot was set up, with people constantly getting out of their cars.
Irene lined up to check her invitation, standing out in her simple outfit among the bodyguards and drivers.
The weather was still hot, and Irene wore a blue and yellow striped crop top, simple light blue jeans, and white sneakers, looking youthful and sweet but clearly out of place here.
The gatekeeper stopped Irene, politely asking: “Hello, may I ask who you are?”
“Hmph, just a worthless scoundrel!”
The gatekeeper turned to see a young man supporting an old man in a police. uniform, the young man having spoken.
The young man was one of Decker’s students.
Joanna, following behind them, hid when she saw Irene, clearly not wanting to
be associated with her.
Helen’s eyes burned with anger, glaring af Irene.
Irene chuckled: “Oh, familiar faces.”
“Who’s familiar with you? How did a poor wretch like you get here?” Decker’s student noticed Irene’s invitation, “An invitation too?”
He turned to the gatekeeper: “I suggest you check thoroughly. Someone might have lost their invitation. She must have stolen it, a dropout like her coming
here?”
“Hurry up and throw her out!”
Helen covered her mouth, laughing softly. “Irene, for the sake of our
acquaintance, I’ll persuade the poor gentleman who lost his invitation not to report to the police.”
Decker frowned slightly: “Enough. How did I teach you? Why make things. difficult for a young girl?”
Others might think they had offended Decker seeing his stern expression, but his student knew him well. He said angrily: “Teacher, you don’t know! She’s a disgusting bitch! You don’t know how she beat me up and threw me into a stinky ditch before!”
Irene, initially indifferent, scrutinized the young man upon hearing this.
She suddenly understood: “Oh! It’s you! No wonder you looked familiar.”
This was the policeman Irene had encountered when she saved Marta.
“Holt.”
Decker glanced at his student.
Why didn’t anyone else mention your disgraceful act, but you spilled it yourself? Is this something to be proud of?
Irene laughed: “This…officer, you say I beat you up. Do you have evidence? You police emphasize evidence, don’t you? Any video? Surveillance? Do you have it?
