Chapter 51: Irene’s Silence
Alter Hammi finished speaking, she looked at Assistant Barton, expecting him to support her due to their long working relationship. However, Barton remained silent, making Hand even angler.
Irene slung herbackpack over her shoulder without spacing Harni or the others a glance. “Assistant Barton, they don’t need my help here. Let’s go.”
Barton, both furious and anxious, hurried to explain, “Miss Irene’s not like that! Miss Alice is from the Raphael family, technically, she isn’t a miss of the Norman family‘
H
“Miss, why are you out here!” Suddenly, Han turned and can a few steps.
te looked back to see a young girl approaching, surrounded by many bodyguards.
The girl wore a soft dress but had a blank expression, like a beautiful doll in a brightly colored dress–pretty but lifeless
Her eyes, void of life, stared at frene for a moment and then looked at Hard
Standing beside Alice, Hanne’s amogance grew even stronger,
“Astant Bacton, I have no issue with you, but I must speak for my miss. What do you mean by saying Miss Alice is from the Raphael family and not the Norman family? Our miss will surely repay the Norman family well in the future!”
Barton frowned, “I’m stating the facts to explain to Miss lone. Otherwise, it something happens in the future and the police can’t help, Miss Frene might have better ideas!”
He wasn’t joking
A genius detective like Irene could not be offended!
She could figure out what someone was thinking with just a glance and uncover secrets with a few clues.
Who dared to offend her?
If Irene left in anger because of Hanni and young Master Palmer got kidnapped again, who would rescue him?
Hanni pursed her lips in anger.
Hanni glanced at Alice, who lowered her head despite maintaining a smiling facade.
After a few seconds, a cold, eerie female voice broke the silence: “Enough”
Hanni fell silent
Tcene watched Hann calmly.
Something was off in their relationship.
Alice should be the one in charge, but now it seemed the opposite.
After Alice wamed Harmi, she should have been resentful and aggrieved, not as if expecting Alice to retaliate forher.
Irene shifted her gaze to Alice’s face.
“I don’t know how Hanni offended you, but I apologize on her behalf,” Alice said.
Irene frowned slightly fine.”
Alice glanced at Hanni, who widened her eyes, clearly displeased.
“How can you treat Miss Alice this way? She speaks, and you just say “time“? Assistant Barton, look at who you brought here!
Hanni’s shout attracted considerable attention
“Hanni has been with me for a long time. She values rules and manners the most. If she troubled you, apologize,” Alice said flatly, taking a card from herbag.
“This is compensation for you.”
It sounded like an apology but felt more like a mockery,
Irene wasn’t angry but narrowed herever.
When Alice mentioned Hanni’s love for rules and manners, her lips curled slightly in a sneer.
Neither Hanninor Assistant Barton noticed this as they focused on each other
Irene felt slightly reassured: “Mrs. Hanni indeed values etiquette.”
Alice glanced at Hanel, then said, “Is it too little for you? I have anothercard.”
She took out a black card from her bag.
free looked at Hanni, “No need. It’s genious of you to apologize with the Norman family’s money.”
Despite the sharp words, Alice didn’t react
She stared ahead, her gaze unfocused, landing somewhere on the clubhouse wafi.
Hare, infuriated, banged at teene, trying to grab her collar, but the quick–witted bodyguard held her back
A strong perfume scent hit Irene, malding her step back uncomfortably,
“Is that your perfume
Chapter 51 Trenes Silence
Hanni’s anger was interrupted by the unrelated question, making her pause. “No, It’s Miss’s perfume.”
Something was wrong with the perfume.
It was overly sweet, masked by heavy fragrance.
Irene wasn’t sure what it was, but she felt she had seen it somewhere before.
Hanni’s eyes flicked to Alice.
Alice’s eyes turned red,
Irene was speechless
“No, M
we didn’t do it on purpose.”
She looked at Alice, sensing trouble, and her patience had run out for the day.
Ignoring them, she turned to leave.
“So rude and uneducated! Hanni tumed, patting Alice’s shoulder warmly, “It’s not worth it for someone like her ”
tal
“Not worth it? Do you know how much the boss values this little detective? Do you know she deduced young Master Palmer’s kidnapping location with just a few clues? Explain this to the boss yourself!”
Irene was deeply attended, and Barton couldn’t hold back anymore. He directly addressed Alice.
Alice played with her phone, seemingly not hearing him.
After Barton finished, Alice looked up, “Can I go now?”
Everyone around felt Alice had done nothing wrong.
The housekeeper caused the offense, and Miss Alice apologized and compensated. She handled it well, with grace.
Barton felt like he was punching a soft cushion.
He glared at the two and left.
Hanni sneered.
Despite driving Irene away, she still hoped for Alice’s recovery. She decided to find another detective, surely better than that girl! Hanni’s eyes twinkled with an idea.
Her aunt’s husband’s sister married into a famous detective family in City A, and they had a top graduate from the police academy! Meanwhile, the rich ladies in the restaurant hadn’t witnessed any of this.
As Trene left, one of them noticed her.
The atmosphere at the gathering was still pleasant.
Helen had been flattering everyone, aiming to conduct “lady diplomacy” to reintegrate Kashi back into high society.
Helen, isn’t that your daughter? It’s a weekday; has she dropped out?” one lady, who disliked Helen, asked deliberately.
Helen followed her gaze and saw Irene leaving the clubhouse.
All she could do was embarrass herself!
relen screamed internally, forcing a smile. “You’re mistaken. That’s not my daughter. I found my biological daughter long ago.” nstrated, she went to the e restroom.
“How are you handling things? It’s been so long! If you don’t want the job, just say sol” Helen coldly called, her voice filled with anger. She often walks alone How can there be no opportunity?”
